Aston Martin AM 310 Vanquish
Thu, 21 Jun 2012Aston Martin has released details of its 2013 AM 310 Vanquish, the modern interpretation of its classic luxury sports car which is set to replace the DBS.
One-77 design cues such as the flowing waistline and LED light blade rear clusters and new design elements such as the lift-reducing rear Aero Duct, bonnet vents, sculpted roof and side strakes feature. A splitter, light-catching side skirts and a rear diffuser form a near-continuous ring of exposed carbon fiber at the base of the car. The carbon fiber body panels reduce its weight and the number of panels needed.
Created under Aston Martin's design director Marek Reichman, the car was designed at the company's global headquarters in Warwickshire, UK. Miles Nurnberger, the automaker's chief exterior designer set out to create a modern adaptation of the classic Vanquish while drawing inspiration from the One-77 supercar.
Inside, the instrument panel features a Driver Information Module identical to that of the One-77, while the old counter-rotating aluminium dials have been placed with much more conventional white on balck units.
The interior provides more space for driver and passengers as well as having 260 liters of storage space, 140 per cent more than the DBS. Legroom increases by 37mm, shoulder room by 25mm, elbow room by 87mm and knee room by 50mm. This dash has also moved forward by 20mm to create more room for the driver and front passenger.
Aston Martin's AM 310 Vanquish is the latest Aston Martin model featuring the next generation of the VH architecture, which uses a bonded-aluminum structure with body panels constructed from carbon fiber, and is available with either 2+0 or 2+2 seating configurations.
