Aston Martin DBS Carbon Black & V12 Vantage Carbon Black Revealed
Fri, 18 Dec 2009The Aston Martin DBS Carbon Black
It’s been a little while since we had a limited edition from Aston Martin, and just like Land Rover where we got the Freelander 2 Sport and the Freelander 2 White & Black in two days, we;ve got a pair of new cars from Aston Martin together – The Aston Martin DBS Carbon Black and the Aston Martin V12 Vantage Carbon Black.
I suppose if you’re Aston Martin and you’re looking for a way to move a few extra cars you may as well pick the two most powerful versions of your cars to have a go. Both Carbon Black Models get the same paint job; a hand painted effort which takes 50 hours to apply and quality check. Both also get a set of 10-spoke, diamond cut alloys with black detailing to show off the exclusive paint job.
On the inside, the cars get hand-finished, carbon fibre and kevlar Obsidian black leather seats with silver stitching with piano black centre console and trim. The Am V12 Vantage Carbon Black also adds a carbon fibre side strake on top of black mesh side grill, a bright front grill and parking sensors.
Sound systems also get upgraded with the V12 Vantage getting the 700w Premium Audio System and the DBS the Bang & Olufsen Beosound DBS audio system as standard. And buyers of the V12 Vantage get a chance to play at Aston Martin’s Performance Driving Course free of charge.
Aston Martin hasn’t given us prices for the new Carbon Black Editions, but they have told us they’ll be about 5% more than the regular models.
At least that’ll pay for the extra man hours on the hand finishing.
