Aston Martin V12 Zagato confirmed for limited production
Sat, 02 Jul 2011Aston Martin V12 Zagato confirmed for production
It didn’t take a genius to work out that the Aston Martin V12 Zagato would not just be incarnated as the Zig and Zag cars for the Nurburgring, but as a proper production car.
Not a production car in the true sense, but a limited edition car much like the Aston Martin Zagato’s gone by.
In fact we reported some time ago that we expected the V12 Zagato to start a limited production run of either 89 or 99 cars as soon as the Aston Martin One-77 ends production, and that the target price would be in the £300-350k range.
We’ve had no official confirmation on the numbers or the price yet, but we expect Aston Martin to be sending out information very soon, especially as their web team has jumped the gun and added the Zagato to their list of current cars.
Not only is the V12 Zagato on the Aston Martin ‘View all Cars’ page on the AML site, if you take a look at the page the V12 Zagato clicks through to (click here to see that page – click the ‘Soul’ button and then the middle panel, but be warned – Aston Martin’s site doesn’t like proper browsers. You’ll probably need to fire up Internet Explorer) you will see that it says:
Exclusive Matching the technology of the age with the traditional skills vital to deliver such a bespoke and Exclusive Sports Car will lead to a strictly limited run of road going V12 Zagatos.
Which would seem to be pretty uniquivocal. All we need now is confirmation on numbers and price.
It won’t be long.
