Aston Martin V8 Vantage N430 & DB9 Carbon Black & Carbon White Editions: Geneva 2014

It’s tough having motor shows to attend and nothing new to offer, so car makers tend to deliver a ‘Special Edition’ of an existing model to make it look like they’ve made and effort. Step forward the Aston Martin V8 Vantage N430 and the Aston Martin DB9 Carbon Black & Carbon White Editions.
There’s little new on offer, really, with a rehashing of what Aston Martin has produced before as ‘Limited Edition’ cars, with the V8 Vantage N430 continuing the theme of Vantage ’N’ Editions and the Carbon’ limited edition’ DB9s done before.
Still, if you want a Limited Edition Aston, the V8 Vantage N430 has the advantage of coming with an upgrade in power to 430bhp – the same as the more expensive Vantage S – aerodynamic tweaks, new alloys, black grill, optional graphics, carbon sill plaques and carbon fibre and Kevlar seats.
You can have the V8 Vantage N430 as a coupe or Roadster, with a six-speed manual or seven-speed auto box, and prices from £89,995 are just £4k more than a regular V8 Vantage and £6k lower than a Vantage S – so not a bad option at all.
The Aston Martin DB9 Carbon White and Carbon Black Special Editions are much the same offerings as Aston has done before with the DB9, with no extra power, just some titivation.
Those titivations include carbon fibre strikes, black window surrounds, bespoke sill plaques, colour accented calipers and carbon fibre details on the interior. really – not much at all.
Aston hasn’t decided how much they want for the DB9 Carbon Black or Carbon White, but it’ll be a premium over the starting prices of the regular DB9 Coupe (£133k) and DB9 Volante (£143k).
The Aston Martin V8 Vantage N430 & DB9 Carbon Black & Carbon White Editions will debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month.
