Aston Martin Virage: The Video
Tue, 22 Mar 2011Aston Martin Virage Video
It’s easy to make fun of the Aston Martin Virage. Easy because, atĀ firstĀ glance, it looks like a purely cynical move to pitch a car half way between the Grand Tourer DB9 and the more driver-focused DBS. And it is. But really, there’s nothing wrong with that.
A closer look at the Virage tells you that there are many – if subtle – differences. The grill at the front is more One-77 than DB9 or DBS and the body-coloured diffuser at the back makes the rear three quarter view even more enticing. And every panel looks just that bit different.
The same creamy V12 underpins the Virage as the DB9 and DBS, but in the Virage is tweaked to give 490 horses and has a five pillar plenum chamber which is said to improve sound and low-down torque.
Brakes on both the Virage Coupe and Virage Volante are ceramic. Which not only improves stopping ability but chops a lump of weight off each corner.
And really, we could go on. Instead of which we’ll just shut up and let you watch the video of the Aston Martin Virage.
