What’s new on Aston’s stand?

Nothing. After a flurry of activity pre-Ford sale (V8 Vantage Roadster and DBS) and the recent V12 Vantage RS, it’s not surprising to find Aston Martin in something of a lull at Geneva. So there’s nothing new then, but motor show visitors will still get to see the gorgeous DB9 Volante and Coupe (complete with some interior tweaks and 20bhp extra) alongside both the DBS and Vantage RS.

Seeing the Vantage RS in the metal. It looks fabulously aggressive (though the wheels seem a bit aftermarket to us) and sends a clear message that Aston can now act quickly and have some fun in the post-Ford landscape.

It’s important to remember, however, that the RS is little more than a parts bin special, a factory hot-rod to grab some headlines. So we eagerly await the first all-new product from David Richards and his private equity cohorts.

The V8 Vantage N400 was notable by its absence. Surely it should have been on show.

There’s nothing new and Aston is still trading on those same old elegant lines, but boy do the cars look good.
