Audi A1 – Seven specials at Wörthersee Tour 2010
Thu, 06 May 2010The Bayern Munich Audi A1 at the Worthersee Tour 2010
Audi has more models than you can shake a stick at. And if you factor in every variation there is on the hugely speccable new Audi A1 then they probably have more cars on offer than the rest of the VW group put together.
But for Audi it’s not just about having a hugely speccable A1, it’s about world domination for the A1. MINI is not just in their sights but on their radar to blitz, and if it wasn’t for the fact that MINI is now owned by BMW we could have been running headlines about the war or 1966.
So to make sure we all ‘Get’ the Audi A1 Audi are shoving variations on an A1 theme in to the limelight; roping in a celeb or two (Justin Timber-boots); making contentious assertions (the Audi A1 is the only premium car in its sector) and generally make sure that their new baby is never out of the press. Oh, and link it with anything with a profile you can think of. Basically, most of the PR toys.
So with the exception of Mr Timberlake – who may well still be roped in – Audi are throwing all the PR plan in to seven specially finished A1s for the tuners special at Wörthersee this month. We have A1s specially finished a variety of themes, including one paying homage to Germany’s biggest football team (see, stick your hat on something high profile) and FC Bayern star Arjen Robben. Other versions are:
So no shortage of customised Audi A1s for the Custom Show.
Almost as an aside to the A1-Fest, Audi will have an orange R8 GT at the entrance to the show and an Audi R8 Spyder 5.2 FSI quattro (Red), Audi TT RS Coupe (Misano Red), Audi TT Roadster (Ibis White) and Audi TTS Coupe (Red) on their stand.
This is the Wörthersee Tour? Are we sure it’s not the new Audi Wörthersee Showroom?
