Audi A1 subcompact teaser

Audi has released a teaser shot of a new premium subcompact, the A1, which will be revealed at the Geneva auto show in March.

The shot is a graffiti-style teaser and reveals very little. Still, it appears to be a fairly bold design, with a prominent front end, short front overhang and large wheel wells.

The grille will maintain Audi's familiar look, but it will be modified around the corners.

Audi showed the A1 project quattro at the 2007 Tokyo auto show and the A1 Sportback concept at the 2008 Paris show.

In a video statement, Audi chairman Rupert Stadler said: “Our goal with the A1 is a bold one--to repeat the success that we have enjoyed with the A3 in the compact segment. With the A1, we're opening another door into the world of premium cars.”
