Audi A3
Thu, 23 Feb 2012Images of the next generation Audi A3 have been leaked ahead of its Geneva debut. The pictures show that the A3 has evolved gently from its previous incarnation, with more refined surfacing and intricate detailing akin to other Audi models. The familiar full-frame grille is flanked more angular LED lamps, which are reminiscent of the A3 sedan concept of Frankfurt as well as the production A1 supermini. Lower bumper treatment is kept to a minimum, with two simple vents sitting either side of the grille aperture and lower bumper blade.
Down the cars flanks, a single lower scalloped section and prominent beltline beltline that now casts a stronger shadow over each wheel break up the shear surfacing. Above this is a more defined C-pillar and slimmer DLO, giving the A3 a sportier feel.
The car's interior was unveiled at CES earlier this year, and features a shallow IP and high central tunnel, effectively cocooning the occupants. The IP is dominated by the large, central plunge-type air vents, whilst above these sits a large screen for the next-generation MMI system.
