Audi R8 V8 Limited Edition

Audi has had an incredible run at Le Mans, and is celebrating in style by launching the Audi R8 V8 Limited Edition in to the UK market.

Despite the R8 Limited Edition being built to mark Audi’s Le Mans triumphs, the R8 doesn’t get a diesel engine or more power. What it does get is a bit of a cosmetic makeover and a list of goodies dropped in.

The stand-out bits are the ‘Exclusive’ Titanium paint finish option, the carbon fibre options for sideblades, door mirrors, inlays and sills, the titanium-look  R8 GT inspired alloys – which nicely showcase the red-painted brake callipers - and crimson detailing in the cabin.

Standard equipment on the R8 V8 – over and above a regular Audi R8 –  includes the very good Bang and Olufsen sound system, SatNav and the Audi Music Interface. And as they are options you’d want to tick if you were speccing up a standard R8, that’s good.

What’s also good is that Audi are throwing in the must-have magnetic ride option. It makes the R8 a much nicer place to be by adjusting the damping to suit the road and how you’re driving by varying the magnetic charge. All clever stuff.

Fortunately, you also get a choice on the gearbox, so you can opt for the manual box (do) instead of the less than brilliant R tronic,

Prices for the R8 V8 Limited Edition start at £93,935 which is £6k up on a regular R8. Once you factor in the extras Audi are bolting on as standard – and they are the right extras – it’s a decent deal.

Just 100 cars are available – UK only – and Audi are taking orders from the start of next month for October delivery.
