With the Audi TT RS Plus order book about to open in the UK, Audi reveals it will costs from £48,945 for the manual coupe.
Audi revealed the TT RS Plus back in February – ahead of a debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March – as a new range-topping model to sit above the existing TT RS.
The TT RS Plus gets pretty much the same performance and power levels as the US version of the TT RS, but Audi has positioned the RS Plus at the top of the range in the UK and Europe as a more hard-core version of the regular RS.
That means an extra 20PS is available from the 2.5 litre 5-cylinder engine for a new output of 360PS and 465NM of torque, enough to get the RS Plus to 62mph in 4.1 seconds and on to an unlimited top speed of 174mph.
Audi puts the performance – and the decent official economy figures – in part down to the lightweight Audi Space Frame bodies made of aluminium at the front and steel at the back. That means the TT RS Plus weighs in at a comparatively light 1450kg.
Changes for the TT RS Plus include 19″ ‘Rotor’ alloys, mesh grill with matt aluminium surround, CFRP mirrors and black oval tailpipes, the showy end of the standard sports exhaust. Inside the RS Plus gets SatNav, Bluetooth and Audi’s Music Interface iPod connection.
Order book for the Audi TT RS Plus opens in May, with first customer cars due in the summer. The TT RS Coupe costs £48,945 or £50,285 with the S-tronic, and the TT RS Roadster £50,925 or £52,265 with S-tronic.
