Audi hardwood bicycle
Mon, 04 Apr 2011Following on from its collaboration with Head for carbon fiber skis, Audi has teamed up with Renovo Hardwood Bicycles to create yet another performance-oriented product.
Audi is launching the Duo range of cycles as βan embodiment of its core principles of progressive innovation' that aim to blend craftsmanship and styling with performance and technology.
As a result, each Duo is built around a monocoque frame that is made from hardwood, which not only increases ride comfort β thanks to the material's ability to absorb shock and vibration β but also serves to reduce weight.
The City, Sport and Road range of bicycles also feature an extensive list of technology-laden attributes, such as composite components, LED lighting and internal hub gearing, as well as belt-driven cranksets on the City and Sport models.
The Duo is said to echo elements of Audi road cars, with a focus on both performance aspects as well as sustainability β the cycles are both recyclable and biodegradable.
Prices for the Duo range begin at $6,530. For more information, click through to the Renovo website here.
