Audi prices 2014 diesel A6, A7 and Q5

Mon, 10 Jun 2013

Audi priced a handful of its diesel models on Monday. The 2014 A6 TDI, A7 TDI and Q5 TDI models will all arrive at U.S. dealers in late summer.

The 2014 Audi A6 TDI starts at $58,395, including destination, which puts it above A6 Prestige model, currently the most expensive in the A6 portfolio. The oil burner will generate 240 hp and a robust 428 lb-ft of torque in the sedan. An eight-speed Tiptronic transmission will feed power to all four wheels. The A6 TDI starts with the Premium package, which adds navigation, Audi connect with Google Earth mapping, Audi MMI touch that recognizes handwriting, Audi advanced key, xenon headlights, Audi parking system plus and 18-inch wheels.

Fuel mileage is rated at 24 mpg in the city and 38 on the highway.

The 2014 A7 TDI will start at $67,795 and return the same fuel economy as the A6 TDI, along with the same power output. The sprint to 60 mph will take 5.5 seconds. The A7 TDI starts with Premium package and all that it entails. This sedan would also be the most expensive in the A7 lineup, as the current price of the A7 Prestige is $67,045.

The TDI will join the rest of the Audi A7 models, including the RS7, which Audi promises will be the most powerful RS model offered in the U.S. That means it will have more than 450 hp, the current output of the RS5.

Audi’s new Q5 TDI will come in at $47,395 and return 24 mpg in the city but only 31 on the highway. Power remains the same, but the sprint time drops to 6.5 seconds.

Three new metallic colors are offered: Volcano red, Maya brown and Lava gray. The Q5 TDI comes standard with leather, MMI navigation and Audi connect. The Q5 will join the new 354-hp SQ5 in Audi’s 2014 lineup. It will be the first diesel-powered Q5 to hit the United States.
