AutoWeek archive: Carroll Shelby Pit-Stop deodorant
Mon, 27 Jun 2011
As you’d expect from a publication with the rich history of AutoWeek, the back issues are filled with a treasure trove of forgotten funniness. Today’s example? Pit-Stop deodorant from none other than the chicken man himself, Carroll Shelby.
Appearing in an issue from early 1967, Ol’ Shel promises “no feminine frills, but a pleasing masculine fragrance.”
Not having a sample of the actual product here at One AutoWeek Tower, the imagination wanders as to what that fragrance might be. Race gas? Tire smoke? Judging by the can, we’re guessing spray-bomb enamel.
