Autoweek archives: Ferrari reveals its new flat 12-cylinder

Mon, 10 Oct 2011

This selection comes from Autoweek Competition Press from January 1963, featuring a lead story on the reveal of Ferrari's at-the-time latest--a 1.5-liter, flat 12-cylinder engine designed for Formula One applications. Its speculated output was 225 hp.

Ferrari also pulled the covers off the latest 2+2 touring car, the 330 GT, the successor to the famed 250GT. The 2+2 was powered by a 4.0-liter V12 and ended up having a production run of just less than 1,100 cars from 1964 to 1968.

As you're reading through the PDF, be sure to take note of Dan Gurney winning the Riverside 500 and the McLaren win in the New Zealand Grand Prix.
