Autoweek in review: What you may have missed

On Monday we woke to a recall involving the Ford Fusion and the Escape SUV for a problem with its 1.6-liter engine that could cause a fire. More than 80,000 vehicles were affected, and more bad news was to come.
Auction house RM touted its car list for its January Arizona event, including some Italian and American racing history.
We also saw a one-of-one Bugatti art car head to Miami for Art Basel.
The Autoweek offices were a bit quieter on Tuesday as editor Rory Carroll stayed home from work with a sick and stuck Tesla Model S.
We also learned the sad news that the new Audi RS6 Avant would not be coming to the States.
On the other hand, we got a sneak peak of the new Lexus IS sedan, which perked us back up.
Hump day came in with a bang—natch—as we saw the new BMW 4-series, which will replace the 3-series coupe. We also checked in on the Hennessey Venom GT, which offered us video evidence of its blistering acceleration.
Later we learned of WRC ace Petter Solberg bowing out of the 2013 season.
Saab came up for air on Thursday as Spyker and Youngman came to an agreement to build cars based on the brand's Phoenix platform.
Toyota decided to sponsor a few NASCAR races, and dogs learned how to drive, seriously.
Friday began like Monday with a recall of the new Ford Fusion, this time it was for the headlight lenses, which need to be replaced.
Saleen introduced the S351 Mustang, and we showed you the best Rube Goldberg machine ever.
