Autoweek in review: What you may have missed
Sat, 09 Feb 2013
A lot was going on at One Autoweek Tower during February's first week. Besides the Chicago Auto Show we talked Super Bowl commercials, Formula One testing and even reviewed a supercar. Here are some of the biggest stories from the week.
On Monday we published our first drive review of the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4. Formula One teams unveiled their 2013 race cars and we learned about alternative fuels.
Tuesday we discussed the Super Bowl commercials, broke them down and voted on our favorites. We also saw the extended trailer for Fast and Furious 6 while Bentley got the OK from VW to build an SUV.
On Wednesday we learned of the BMW 3-series GT and checked out some dwarf cars. Boardgame fans saved the Monopoly race car and we saw time-lapse video of a 2013 NASCAR Chevy SS being built.
Press days for the Chicago Auto Show started on Thursday with reveals from Ford, Nissan, and Toyota. We caught the 2014 Corvette testing out west and Automotive News publisher Peter Brown retired.
We wrapped the week with some video from Formula D driver Ryan Tuerck, the 2013 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor and automotive marketing in the pre-Super Bowl era. Later, we spied an Alfa Romeo 4C roadster testing in Michigan's cold weather.
