BMW 5 Series Touring (2010 / 2011) leaks
Sat, 13 Mar 2010First leaked images of the 2010 / 2011 BMW 5-Series Touring
It was November last year when BMW officially revealed the 2010 BMW 5 Series and the first cars are due to hit the roads around now. But what we don’t have yet – as is usual – is the estate or performance version. But we can now sort the 5 Series Estate, with the reveal this morning of the first official pictures of the 2011 BMW 5 Series Touring.
German magazine Bild has published some low-res images of the new 5-Series Touring this morning, making it a pretty safe bet that BMW are about to do things officially. And it’s a good looking car; more coupe-like at the back end than before, which is probably designed to differentiate it from the BMW 5 Series GT (which we still don’t really ‘Get’).
The new BMW 5 Series Touring (2010 / 2011 depending on which side of the Pond you’re on) will be officially unveiled next month at the AMI Show in Leipzig, although we’ll probably get full details from BMW over the weekend after this leak.
What we do know (we think) is that the 2010 5-Series Touring will get a choice of four engines at launch – two diesel and two petrol – in the forms of the 523i Touring, 535i Touring, 520d Touring and 525d Touring. It’s a fair bet that additional engines will get offered later – we expect to see a 540d Touring and an M5 Touring in 2011. The 520d will come with stop-start and all engines will have the ZF 8-Speed auto ‘box option.
The 2010/2011 BMW 5 Series Touring is due to go on sale in September with prices from €42k. But we’ll know much more once BMW gets some official detail out. The 2011 5 Series Touring photo gallery below is low-res, but we’ll put up proper sized photos as soon as BMW get official.
