BMW M235i leaks out ahead of 2-Series debut
Tue, 22 Oct 2013BMW M235i leaks out ahead of 2 Series debut
BMW started the tease for the new 2-Series over the weekend with a ver brief video, and are planning on debuting their replacement for the 1 Series Coupe at the end of the week. But car makers best laid plans usually go awry now the world has smartphone cameras and the Interwebs are beckoning, so it’s no big surprise we have the first photo of a new 2-Series – in this case the M235i – ahead of its official reveal.
Snapped at a dealer presentation by a member of 2addicts forum, the new 2 Series looks pretty much like the 1-Series from the front with a coupe roof sloping down to a new back end. Just as you’d expect.
Under the bonnet of this particular 2-Series is a 3.0 litre turbo from the M135i good for 322bhp and a 0-62mph of 5.0 seconds (4.8s with auto ‘box) and features bigger air intakes at the front than the regular 2 Series will.
There’s only a few days to go before the new 2-Series gets its official debut (Friday 25th October), so it seems unlikely BMW will bring the debut forward on the back of a few snapped shots of the M235i, although it’s highly likely we’ll see more leaked photos before.
More on the new BMW 2-Series on Friday (or before).
