BMW M3 GTS Revealed +video
Wed, 04 Nov 2009The new BMW M3 GTS - launches in May 2010
The idea of the stripped out and very quick M3 has been on the cards for a while. Rumours went round about an M3 CSL or an M3 GT. But now we know. It’s the BMW M3 GTS. And it’s orange. Very orange. It looks like it’s been Tango’d. A throwback to BMW’s past, but it definitely makes a statement.
As does the very 1970s retro-style wing sitting on the boot. Get past the throw-back bits though and you see a very modern set of 19″ Competition alloys lurking beneath the bulging wings. Look again and you can’t really miss the huge front splitter and see that the inside is devoid of anything but the basics. Even the rear screen is replace with Macron. This is not any everyday road car. It’s not even a ‘Superleggerra’. It’s a track car with its roll-cage and three point harness.
Details are a still a bit thin on the ground, but we’re guessing around 475bhp from the twin-turbo V8, all of which is driven through BMW’s 7-speed dual-clutch ‘box.
We do know it’s going to cost €115k plus tax in Germany – so think £115k in Sterling OTR – but then we run out of detail.
But we’ll get more soon.
