BMW M4 Convertible to debut in New York next month

BMW has pretty much finished rolling out its replacement for the 3 Series Coupe – the BMW 4 Series – with both the coupe and convertible 4-Series, the new M4 and even the 4-Series Gran Coupe all revealed. All that’s left is the range-topping 4-Series – the new BMW M4 Convertible. But that all all change next month with the M4 Convertible making its debut at the New York Auto Show before going on sale in Q3 2014.
In all the ways that matter, the M4 Convertible offers the same appealing package of the M4, but with the foldable hardtop from the 4-Series Convertible.
That means a new 3.0 litre direct injection in-line six with 425bhp and a very useful 405lb/ft of torque, enough in the M4 to get to 62mph in 4.3 seconds and likely not far off that in the M4 Convertible.
Cosmetically, the new M4 Convertible will come with the same teaks as the M4, with a power dome on the bonnet, aggressive front and back, side sills and a choice of 18″ or 19″ alloys.
The new BMW M4 Convertible won’t arrive in UK showrooms in time for summer 2014, but with its folding hard top it will be just as suited to winter driving anyway.
No price for the new BMW M4 Convertible yet, but expect it to be around £60k.
