BMW X5 (2010 / 2011) Revealed
Sat, 06 Feb 2010The BMW X5 2010 / 2011 Facelift
Update: We now have high-res pictures and UK details and prices for the 2010/2011 BMW X5.
I know, to us in the UK – and Europe for that matter – this is the 2010 BMW X5. But for readers on the other side of the Pond this is the 2011 BMW X5 as it won’t start hitting the roads until later this year. And as we get more than one or two readers from the US here it’s only fair to make it clear. Beside, it looks like the X5 pictures were taken in the US.
The facelifted BMW X5 is due to debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month, and the proper gen was supposed to be under wraps until tomorrow. But Autobild have jumped the gun and run a story – and these pictures – so it would be daft not to bring you information that’s now out there.
BMW have made some alterations to the exterior of the X5, including a new back bumper and LED tail lights, bigger air intakes at the front with optional Bi-Xenons and LED running lights and some new colour options. But it’s the oily bits that get the most work.
Top of the non-M tree is the X5 xDrive50i which gets 407bhp and gets to 60mph in around 5.3 seconds. Big play is made of EfficientDynamics cutting down emissions and improving economy. But the xDrive50i still has emissions of 292g.km. The xDrive35i is still on offer, but new to the lineup is the X5 xDrive40d which offers 0-60mph in 6.4 seconds and manages 37mpg with 19g.km CO2. Also on offer is the xDrive 30d with 245bhp.
Inside the new X5 there’s the latest version of iDrive with a 6.5″ screen and the SatNav gets a HDD and an 8.5″ screen. Lots of connectivity options and the X5 can be had with a third row of seats to make it a 7 seater.
The X5 pictures in the gallery below are not as high res as normal, but once the info is official we’ll update the gallery and put up the (almost certainly) enormous 2010 BMW X5 press release. We also have no prices, but we’ll probably get those at – or just before – Geneva.
