BMW X6 M50d gets a second video tease
Thu, 15 Dec 2011BMW X6 M50d - Video Tease 2 with talking heads
The BMW X6 M50d – BMW’s diesel-powered M car – gets a second video tease today, this time with talking heads.
The BMW X6 M50d – or whatever convoluted moniker BMW decides to attach toi their diesel-powered M X6 – is certainly getting the full force of the BMW new product tease machine.
Ignoring the real leaks about a diesel-powered X6, we’ve already had one video tease for the new X6 M50d, with the X6 blatting around mountain roads with the important bits blurred out. Those important bits are no doubt the cosmetic tweaks BMW are making to the whole X6 range when the facelift arrives and the M50d badge on the back.
After that first tease we were able to report the M50d performance figures which, for a diesel-powered full size SUV are quite remarkable. Yes, there’s ‘only’ 381bhp on tap but there is a mountain of torque - 545lb/ft of the stuff – which means a 0-62mph of 4.9 seconds and potential for average economy of 45mpg.
Now we’re on to the second video tease which, rather irritatingly, is much of the footage from the first tease interspersed with BMW talking heads telling us that the M50d is a real M car, is an astonishing performer – “…on every road you feel like you’re on a race track” – and that it’s powered by BMW M.
As if they’d say anything else.
