BMW i8 Spyder Concept Video

With the reveal over the weekend of the BMW i8 Spyder Concept, we now get the first video of the open top i8.

The weekend was a busy one for the new BMW i8 Spyder Concept. We had the first photo leak of the i8 Spyder on Saturday which obviously galvanised BMW in to action as they revealed a full set of official photos of the i8 Spyder on Sunday morning.

Now we get the first video of the new i8 Spyder and the news – although not yet confirmed from BMW – that the i8 Spyder will be going in to production (which no one really doubted) and is planned to arrive a year after the i8 Coupe.

We get to see the i8 Spyder on the move – both night and day – and a set of interior and exterior ‘beauty’ shots. But we’re still none the wiser about the roof on the i8 Spyder.

Logic says BMW will have created the space behind the front seats – which are a pair of +2 seats in the i8 Coupe – to take an automatic roof mechanism and stow it. But it is always possible the roof is simply a removable panel rather than a fully automated operation. Which will be a bit of a disappointment in a £100k eco supercar.

We actually got four videos from BMW of the i8 Spyder, but rather than publish them separately we’ve stitched them all together to make one i8 Spyder video.
