BMW of North America president to host Teen Driving School
Thu, 26 Aug 2010Students and teens living in Evans, Ill., will have the opportunity to attend a special driving seminar at U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago on Sept. 7.
While the BMW Teen Driving School travels to various locations across the country, this particular event will be hosted by Jim O'Donnell, BMW of North America president.
Sponsored by Group 1 Automotive, the event will mark the kickoff of the 2010 BWM Championship golf tournament. All proceeds will benefit the Evans Scholars Foundation, a college scholarship program for caddies.
Teens participating in the free program will spend the day not only in the classroom, but also on the track in a BMW 3-series. BWM driving instructors will be in the vehicle to provide feedback as students practice skid control, accident avoidance and how to handle unexpected braking.
A portion of the school will also include BMW's new “Drive It Home--Don't TXT & Drive” campaign.
Students ages 15-21 are welcome and must hold a valid driver's permit or license. To register for the event, call (800) 511-5269. Class size is limited.
