Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible ISR gets a Mulliner Graphics Pack

Back in February, before the Geneva Motor Show, we got a tip that Bentley were going to build a limited edition Supersports Convertible to celebrate the World Ice Speed Record, set in a Bentley Supersports Convertible by Juha Kankkunen on frozen seas in Finland.
The heads-up we got what pretty much on the money. But we were told that the exterior of the ISR would get red highlights to make it look a bit ‘racy’. But when we got the official news on the Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible Ice Speed Record (henceforth to be know as the ISR, or this story will be three feet long), the red stuff had gone.
We guessed Bentley had decided it was just a bit too boy-racer for a Bentley Continental Convertible. Bentley buyers are much more subtle than that. After all, when we think of well known Bentley Continental owners we think of reserved and sophisticated people like Wayne Rooney, Gordon Ramsey, Dale Winton, Mr Jay-Zed…
OK, the profile of the average Bentley owner has changed a little since VW brought Bentley screaming and shouting in to the 21st century, and those new owners need to be catered for. So the red stuff is back on the ISR – in spades and as an option.
The ISR Mulliner option introduces a Porsche-style graphic down the side in red and some red detailing, which includes the wheels. If you’re up for a Bentley ISR you’ll be chuffed to know that you don’t have to cough up any more than the bog-standard £189,300 to get the ‘Halfords’ look, as the ISR Mulliner option is a freebie.
There is apparently no truth in the rumour that Wayne Rooney has ordered one with a sunstrip featuring ‘Wayne & Coleen’ in red to match the body graphics.
