Brief 1 – Buick: CDN–GM Interactive Design Competition
Mon, 11 Aug 2014This year's Car Design News and General Motors Interactive Design Competition is now up and running. Simply choose one of the five briefs set by GM's designers and submit your entry on the competition website, http://www.cardesigncontest.com/
If you think you could design a 6-8-seat vehicle that promotes togetherness, then the brief set by Buick could be the one for you.
It asks you to come up with a cutting edge, unique and innovative vehicle that embodies your vision of a modern Buick. The judges will be looking for your use of relevant technologies, content and features, and will reward creative solutions that portray the expression of emotion, beauty and comfort.
If you create a design that stands out, and can communicate how is it unique in the marketplace, valued by the customer and fits the Buick brand then you could be in with a shout of winning one of six, three-month paid internships that offer the chance to work alongside GM's design teams at the world-famous Tech Center in Warren, MI.
The competition is open to full-time design students of all disciplines, in a college or university in the USA or Canada and who have at least one more semester to complete after the 2015 summer internship ends. Winners will be announced at the NAIAS in Detroit, in January 2015.
The initial ideation phase of the competition ends on 22 August, so head to http://www.cardesigncontest.com/ to enter.
