Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse Geneva debut
Wed, 22 Feb 2012The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse will debut at Geneva
Bugatti has unveiled the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse – a Veyron Grand Sport with the power of the 1200hp Super Sport. Debuts at Geneva.
There will come a time when the Bugatti Veyrons that are worth the most money will be the bog standard cars; after all, there are far fewer standard Veyrons on the planet that there are ‘Special Edition’ Veyrons.
You can now add a new special edition Veyron to the list, with a new Bugatti that is a bit more than just a couple of special editions knocked out for one-upmanship in the Gulf – the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse.
Bugatti has taken the Veyron Grand Sport with its removable roof and planted the heart of the Veyron Super Sport under the skin to produce the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, guaranteed to shred your syrup in 2.5 seconds – about the time it will take you to get to 62mph.
All of which means your fresh air Veyron will now get 1184bhp instead of the paltry 987bhp the regular Grand Sport has to cope with, and an earth-moving 1,106lb/ft of torque too. Bugatti has achieved the extra power exactly as they have in the Super Sport by fitting bigger turbos and intercoolers.
Bugatti isn’t telling us how quick the Grand Sport Vitesse is, but it’s not going to be much slower than the Super Sport, which can get to 62mph in 2.5 seconds. How much is the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, we hear you ask? Bugatti aren’t saying, but you’re unlikely to get much change from €2 million.
And we’re guessing Bugatti will build as many as they can sell.
