CAR reader's son designs Ferrari FF spin-offs (2011)

Mon, 07 Feb 2011

CAR reader Peter Tremulis clearly has a very clever son. Daniel, 18, has drawn up these Ferrari FF spin-offs - designed to extend Maranello's four-wheel drive estate into new niches.

And this is no mere idle Photoshoppery. Peter has sent the artwork to Ferrari design chief Flavio Manzoni. Who knows what may happen next!

Over to you, Peter. 'My son Daniel (18 years old) prepared the accompanying artwork to illustrate the potential that the newly released FF offers Ferrari and Pininfarina to create a series of GTs based upon this most capable performance platform. With all-wheel drive, a 208 mph top speed and beautiful lines, Flavio Manzoni has an unprecedented opportunity to create a series first for Ferrari.'

'I have shared my thoughts and my son's artwork with Flavio and hope his proceeds to move apace in broaching this concept with the executive team at Ferrari.'

Daniel has drawn up a series of spin-offs, including some more practical touring versions.

'The GT version is a two seat model with a package tray in the rear,' continues Peter. 'It may be possible to accomodate two additional passengers in this model.  This model is based upon the 250 GT SWB Berlinetta and the second image is provided to illustrate the heritage window, roofline and rear greenhouse glass. The rear facia is also modified to provide the rounded rear end so recognisable in this 1961 250 GT.

'I hope your readers enjoy the effort and that Ferrari capitalises on the potential the FF offers Ferrari. With the Mille Miglia just around the corner in early May, it's not too late to reveal the GT version shown on these images!'

Bravo that father-and-son combo. And thank you for sharing your thoughts with CAR Online.
