Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon recalled for missing hood latch
Thu, 20 Dec 2012
General Motors is recalling a group of 2010-2012 Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon trucks because they could be missing a second hood latch. If the primary latch is not engaged, the hood could open while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.
Nearly 120,000 pickups are affected. GM will notify owners in January, and instruct them to inspect the vehicle for a secondary hood latch. Dealers will replace missing latches free of charge.
Owners can contact Chevrolet at (800) 630-2438 or GMC at (866) 996-9463. Alternatively, they can go to www.safercar.gov for more information.
