Chrysler recalls Town & Country, Jeeps
Mon, 07 Jun 2010Chrysler is recalling 600,000 vehicles spread out over five models for a wide range of problems. The potential issues are doors that could catch on fire, brake troubles and sticky accelerators, Reuters reports.
Here's the breakdown.
-- About 285,000 Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans for the 2008 and 2009 model years could have an electrical switch problem, which could cause a fire.
-- Then, there are about 289,000 Jeep Wranglers from 2007 to 2010 that could leak brake fluid, causing the brakes to fail.
-- About 25,000 Dodge Calibers and Jeep Compasses have already been recalled for sticky pedal problems.
The news is a counterpoint to last week, when Chrysler had been basking in a 33-percent sales gain for May.
