Citroen C1 Urban Ride Concept – it’s a C1 ‘Allroad’ Crossover

With the 2014 Paris Motor Show rapidly looming, car makers are busy rolling out details of their new cars and concepts due to go on show, and today there’s another from PSA with the reveal of the Citroen C1 Urban Ride Concept. Demonstrating what can be done to the, frankly better than you think, C1 City car, Citroen has applied a makeover that turns the C1 in to a funky little ‘Allroad’ for a bit more rufty-tufty around town.
Citroen calls its makeover of the C1 to create the Urban Concept as SUV-inspired with ‘go anywhere looks’. That means a rise in ride height – a modest 15mm – the usual ‘Allroad’ butch plastic beefy bits for the wheel arches and bumpers, a wider track (by 10mm) and an in-yer-face Yellow paint job.
The C1 Urban Ride Concept will be at the Paris Show in both 5-door tin-top and Airscape guises, and it actually looks quite convincing; a practical and sensible urban warrior at what wouldn’t be a silly price.
And if you think the C1 Urban Ride Concept should be a production model, Citroen want to know. If the feedback’s good it will be made.
We think that’s probably a given.
