Citroen C5 Cross Tourer adds an ‘Allroad’ version to the C5 Estate

We’ve said it before, but for many car buyers a full-blown SUV or Crossover is a step too far. A more rufty-tufty estate car is a much better option. That’s why Audi has had its Allroad options for a long time and why we’re seeing more and more of these butch estates – like the new Skoda Octavia Scout – as car buyers look to fill every possible niche.

The latest to play the ‘Allroad’ card is Citroen with the Citroen C5 CrossTourer, a butch version of the C5 Estate with a raised ride height and extended wheel arches to offer the promise of a bit more ability on rough terrain.

The C5 Cross Country comes with Citroen’s Hydractive III+ suspension which offers a 60mm increase in ride height at speeds up to 6mph and 40mm at speeds up to 25mph for better performance and is available  on all C5 models except the HDi 115 with manual gearbox and the e-HDi 115 Airdream with 6-speed auto.

As well as the raised ride height, the C5 Cross Country comes with the usual ‘Allroad’ bits like black plastic wheel arch extensions, matt grey roof bars, 18″ matt grey alloys, chrome door mirrors and aluminium skid plates front an rear and comes in Millenium and Exclusive trim and gets massaging driver’s seat and leather as standard.
