Dassault Systèmes and Autodesign & Styling's 'Prague Experience' contest launched

Mon, 18 Nov 2013

Dassault Systèmes and AutoDesign & Styling magazine are looking for designs for everyday objects inspired by the Czech capital of Prague for their annual international design competition.

The contest, which is open to designers from all over the world, calls for entries that are both user- and eco-friendly and reflect the character of Prague as a European city full of famous architecture and hundreds of monuments.

Anne Asensio, vice-president of design experience at Dassault Systèmes and jury president for the past two years, said, "We are pleased to announce the third annual competition, and we have already introduced a small tradition. We believe that this year's theme will appeal to many interested parties from all over the world and that participation will help develop a designer's career."

A panel of experts consisting of professional designers, academics and consultants will judge the entries.

The winners will be announced in the March issue of AutoDesign & Styling. The first-placed entrant will receive €1,000, the second-placed €500 and third-placed €300.

The aim of the Dassault Systèmes Design Challenge is to identify and promote young design talents, and almost 150 designers – including many students – entered the previous two contests.

Previous winners are now employed within the industry, with the 2011 contest winner – Diego Garcia – now working for SEAT and last year's winner – Riten Gojiya – working at Honda Europe.

To register, submit and find out more, visit the AutoDesign & Styling website.

The deadline to submit proposals is 28 February 2014.
