Fashion designers make their mark on Opel/Vauxhall Adams
Tue, 04 Sep 2012Vauxhall has joined forces with fashion designers Louise Gray, James Small and Fred Butler by giving them the chance to personalize their own Adam car.
Each designer had their own Adam to customize and they set about the task of using it as a canvas to express their own signature style.
Gray, whose designs are typically colorful and bold, used foil-printed silk crepe and large sequins to personalize her car; Small's smooth, brightly- painted Adam represents his printed menswear line, while Butler's vibrant geometric design conveys his personal style.
The designers were mentored throughout the experience – Gray was helped by stylist and fashion consultant Richard Sloan, Small by Louis Vuitton menswear creative director Kim Jones and Butler by blogger and 'Shaded View of Fashion Film Festival' founder Diane Pernet.
Thomas Giddings captured the entire process on camera, with the film being screened at Vauxhall Fashion Scout on 18 September. All three designs will also be displayed outside the Vauxhall Fashion Scout venue at Freemason's Hall throughout London Fashion Week, from 14 September until 18 September.
