Ferrari 458 Spider by Kahn Design
Sun, 02 Sep 2012Kahn design has revealed a Ferrari 458 Spider they’ve ‘customised’, although we’re struggling to see what they’ve done.
It’s hard to criticise the PR efforts of A. Kahn Design – Bradford’s finest car customisers – with new cars being revealed all the time.
Everything from the staple efforts on the Range Rover Evoque or Range Rover Sport to less common efforts like the wide-bodied Porsche Panamera or the Audi A5 Coupe Sport.
But the truth is that all Kahn’s releases are just a pointer to what can be done, and fodder for car news outlets happy to have something new to run and pretty pictures to go with it. A PR job; no more, no less.
Now we get the Kahn Ferrari 458 Spider which, say Kahn design, comes complete with new front and rear sections, ceramic brakes, wing shields, upgraded F1 ‘box and yellow brake calipers.
Inside, the Kahn 458 Spider is said to have leather electric sports seats and the usual Kahn blurb about matching the interior to your budgie’s wing or Katie Price’s new hair. In other words, tell us how poor your taste is and we’ll do the rest.
The trouble is, we’re struggling to see anything on the photos of the 458 Spider that Kahn sent us that looks different to the 458 Spider that comes direct from Maranello, except the wheels. Are Kahn getting smug and thinking they can just put out a few pretty photos and not look at what they’re saying? Perhaps they sent us ‘before’ rather than after ‘photos’?
Whichever it is, we’ll look closely before we bother running a ‘Kahn News’ story in future.
Update: Turns out this Ferrari 458 Spider isn’t even Kahn’s car. They borrowed it from Stratstone Ferrari Manchester and there’s nothing ‘Kahn’ about this 458 Spider at all. Oh, dear. No wonder we couldn’t see what they’d done.
