Ferrari F150 / F70: Details confirmed
Wed, 26 Dec 2012Ferrari has confirmed more details of the Enzo successor – the Ferrari F70 / F70 – in the Ferrari Magazine and their web site.
As we’ve already reported today that the McLaren P1′s design is almost the same as the concept P1, we thought we should also report on the latest news on the McLaren’s biggest rival – the Ferrari F70 / F150 – now Ferrari has confirmed more detail.
Most of what Ferrari has revealed on their web site (and in the latest edition of the Ferrari Magazine) has already been speculated upon, but now we know from the (prancing) horse’s mouth some of the technical details, as well as the look of the new Ferrari from the recent tease of the F70/F150.
It’s no shock to learn that the F150 will be powered by a more powerful version of the 730bhp V12 from the F12, and not that it will be mated to a Ferrari HY-KERS electric hybrid setup and that we will see a total of over 900bhp from the F150, which should mean 0-200kph in around 7.5 seconds.
What we also learn is that the F150 will sit as low as the Ferrari 458 and have a wheelbase the same, that the chassis will be hand-built with different types of carbon fibre with the batteries for the HY-KERS system, and the fuel tank, sitting behind the driver’s head.
Each F150/F70/New Enzo (the sooner we get an official name for the new Enzo, the better) will also be personalised to its owner, with a custom-made seat tailored to the owner and sitting in a fixed position, with the steering wheel and pedal box moving instead of the seat.
The new Ferrari is stacking up to be something very special, and with any luck all will be revealed at the Detroit Auto Show next month.
