Ferrari online earthquake auction starts today – 599XX Evo up for grabs

To raise funds for the victims of the recent earthquake in the Emilia Romagna region of Italy, Ferrari is holding an online auction.

The recent earthquake in the Emilia Romagna region of Italy is where Ferrari is based and their production was disrupted by the second of the earthquakes – measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale and claiming 17 deaths in the region – at the end of May.

To help with funding for victims of the earthquake Ferrari has organised an online auction of Ferrari ‘stuff’ which kicks off this afternoon, and includes not just stuff like racing suits and helmets but a specifically built Ferrari 599XX Evo.

Don’t expect to grab any bargains – this is about fundraising – but the chance to grab a purpose-built 599XX Evo will be a big chance for a Ferrarista with deep pockets.

The reserve is €1.35 million and the car will have a number of unique features including a plaque dedicated by Luca di Montezemolo,  Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa and will be handed over to the successful bidder by Messrs Alonso and Massa at the Monza Grand Prix in September.

Also on offer is a 2008 F1 V8 engine with a reserve of €50k, an original nose cone from the F60, an F1 racing suit from Giancarlo Fisichella and racing suits, gloves and helmets autographed by Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa.
