Fiat 500 Thousandth – the first ‘Collective Car’
Fri, 30 Apr 2010Fiat 500 Thousand - get your picture on a Fiat 500
The Fiat 500 seems like it’s been around forever. Which of course it almost has if you count its original iteration. But even the modern Fiat 500 seems to be such a familiar part of the motoring landscape that it’s hard to believe it’s just 31 months since it launched.
In those 31 months Fiat has worked hard to out-MINI MINI with a plethora of models and special editions, from the Fiat 500 Pink to the Fiat 500 by Diesel; from the Fiat 500C to the Fiat 500 Abarth, not to mention the Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari and a multitude of ‘Arty’ Fiat 500s for charity auctions.
And now we have a new limited edition Fiat 500, only this one is limited to just one car to celebrate 500,000 Fiat 500s produced to date. This Fiat 500 will be decorated with 1500 pictures of 500 owners, celebrities and fans. And you have the chance to get your mug shot on this one-off Fiat 500 by going to www.fiat500.com, where you can book a space and upload a photo.
Fiat are calling this one-off Fiat 500 the first ‘Collective Car’ (perhaps they should call it the ’500 Borg’) and they’ll be using it at events and promotions once they’ve finished sticking all 1500 pictures on the car.
Sounds like a job for the work experience kids.
