Ford Edge, Ram 1500 lead list of month's best deals

Going to a dealership and paying below the sticker price of the car you're looking to take home always elicits a good feeling.

TrueCar's monthly “Steals on Wheels” list details the best deals on vehicles currently on the market to make your bargain shopping dreams come true.

Leading the pack so far this month are the 2013 Ford Edge SE and the 2013 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman.

The Edge's suggested retail price is $28,995 (it includes destination and delivery but not tax and licensing charges) while the average market transaction price was $24,004, a savings of $4,591.

“July is an ideal time to shop for a new car because it offers a great selection of vehicles before model-year-end clearance sales start depleting available choices at the dealers' lots,” said Jesse Toprak, senior analyst for TrueCar. “If you're especially picky about the color or particular configuration of your new car, this would be a great time to go kick the tires and still get some of the best deals of the year 2013 model-year vehicles.”
