Ford F-150 recall to include more vehicles
Thu, 14 Apr 2011
Ford and U.S. safety regulators have agreed to expand the F-150 and Lincoln Mark LT recalls to include an additional 1 million vehicles. The first wave included 144,000 copies of the F-150, the best-selling pickup in North America.
The recall is for a short circuit that could cause the airbags to deploy unexpectedly. It covers 2004-06 Ford F-150s and 2006 Lincoln Mark LTs.
NHTSA chief David Strickland said in a statement, “We are pleased that Ford shares our commitment to safety and is taking action to protect consumers by expanding its safety recall to include an additional 1.2 million Ford F-150 and Lincoln Mark LT vehicles.”
