Ford KA – the range grows for 2010
Mon, 25 Jan 2010Ford has revamped the KA range for 2010
The new Ford KA has been with us for a year now. We first did a Ford KA review back in November 2008 and found it to be a great little car. Still with some of the DNA of the original KA coursing through its oil, it was a credible re-interpretation of the original.
We had a few more reservations when we did a Ford KA Diesel Review last year, but there are no doubts that the KA is a good car and ideally matched to its target demographic.
But it’s already time for a refresh of the KA, and Ford has announced a new model line-up – the model range is now Studio, Edge, Zetec and the all-new Titanium – and the addition of four new ‘Individual’ variants to the range – Grand Prix, Digital, Tattoo and Tattoo Premium. Engine choices remain the same at the 1.2 petrol and the 1.3 diesel.
The Edge replaces the old Style model and now gets AirCon thrown in. The Zetec gets a flexible accessory holder and leather steering wheel (that’ll convince the punters to buy) and the new Titanium gets the Zetec spec plus 16″ alloys, rear spoiler, chrome exhaust tips and Advanced Music pack, which includes uprated speakers, amplifier and 100w subwoofer.
The ‘Individual’ range is based on the Zetec pack and replaces the previous options pack. The Ka Grand Prix includes 16in seven-spoke alloys, rear spoiler, chrome exhaust pipe and a bespoke Grand Prix interior/exterior. The Ka Digital also includes 16in seven-spoke alloys and a chrome exhaust pipe with a unique Digital interior/exterior. The Ka Tattoo includes the same Digital features with added door and tailgate handles, scuff plates and Tattoo interior (cloth) and exterior. The Ka Tattoo Premium combines the standard Tattoo features with a leather interior.
Nothing earth-shattering – just a gentle tweak or two to the packaging.
