Ford Mondeo Sport announced
Fri, 20 Aug 2010The 2011 Ford Mondeo Sport - only 3000 being built
We’re almost up to the next plate change in the UK (60 reg out next month) and Ford are getting out the marketing tools to tempt buyers in to showrooms. One of the top foot-fall makers is the Limited Edition, with extra kit for not a lot of extra dosh. Which as we always say is great if you’d have specced the options thrown in anyway.
So if you were tempted to toddle along to the local Blue Oval and put in an order for a Mondeo Zetec, you may very well be tempted by the Ford Mondeo Sport which gets based on the Zetec spec but with added toys.
The toys which come as standard on the Mondeo Sport include auto lights and wipers, SatNav, 17″ alloys, parking sensors and a solar reflect windscreen to keep the cabin cool.
Ford say that all the extra goodies on the Mondeo Sport add up to around £2,000, with the Sport costing just £300 more than the Zetec on which it’s based. As we said, if the extras float your boat it’s a good deal. And it may be the only way to get a good deal out of Ford since they cut back hard on dealer discounts
Ford say they’re only churning out 3,000 Sport models which will be available from September in Frozen White, Panther Black, Sea Grey, and Moondust Silver; in either 1.8-litre 125PS diesel or 2.0 145PS petrol guise and as a five-door or Estate. Prices from £18,795 for the petrol version and £19,495 for the diesel.
Not the most exciting kid on the block, but a big-ish family car with a decent spec without breaking the bank.
