Goodwood Festival of Speed (2013) the cars of GFoS

If you’re one of the 150,000 expected visitors at Goodwood for the Festival of Speed this weekend, you’ll be among the first to see a wealth of new performance cars in action on Lord March’s drive. Here’s the full round up of confirmed attendees with links to CAR’s full stories – which are you most excited to see (and hear)?
Audi’s Le Mans-winning R18 E-tron Quattro will be driven up the hill by 2013 race winner Allan McNish – check out his pre-Le Mans interview with CAR here. Meanwhile on Audi’s stand, you’ll be able to poke around the new S3, SQ5 TDI, RS4 Avant, RS5 Cabriolet,RS6 Avant, RS7 Sportback and R8 V10.
Aston Martin celebrates ints centenary in 2013, and is bringing plenty of cars to celebrate. Expect to see the CC100 concept and the new V12 Vantage S during the weekend event.
Bentley's new racing car, the Continetal GT3, will be doing demonstation runs up the hill. The racer is a whopping 1000kg lighter than the lardy GT on which it's based.
BMW is bringing an M1 Procar, M6 Gran Coupe and Brabham BT52 F1 car to the hill and show off the Pininfarina Gran Lusso in the UK for the first time.
Caterham will debut its craziest ever Seven: the R620. It packs 310bhp and hits 60mph in 2.78sec.
Citroen's latest GFoS-bound creation is the DS3 Cabrio Racing, a 202bhp drop-top hot hatch
Ferrari has a static display of road cars, including the F12, 458 Spider and FF, plus Eric Clapton’s one-off ‘SP12 EC’. Tearing up the hill will be the 2010 F10 Formula One racer.
Jaguar’s headline act is the Project 7: a Le Mans-inspired F-type featuring the 542bhp V8 from the XKR-S. The same engine will also be powered Jag’s another GFoS debutant, the XFR-S super-saloon. Both will be smoking tyres on the hill during the Goodwood weekend. The XJR super-limo and hardcore XKRS-GT will be on site too.
Land Rover will give its new Range Rover Sport a dynamic debut on the Goodwood hill – check out CAR’s first drive here.
Lotus will be hoping for sunny weather as it previews its new topless Exige S Roadster at Goodwood. The 345bhp supercharged soft-top is the first drop-top Exige from Lotus, and is actually lighter than the coupe, thanks to the fabric roof and binning the rear spoiler.
McLaren will be one of Goodwood’s most prevalent manufacturers, showcasing a wealth of historic models to celebrate the brand’s half-century this year. As well as F1 racers, Can-Am cars and McLaren F1 road cars, the new 12C Spider and P1 hybrid supercar will be taking to the Goodwood hill. F1 drivers Jenson Button and Sergio Perez will also be in attendance.
Mercedes owners get special access at Goodwood, as long as you produce you Merc’s key at the manufacturer’s stand. Once inside, you’ll be able to see the new A45 AMG hot hatch, and the latest S-class, plus the ultimate SLS AMG Black Series.
Peugeot is showing off the RCZ R, which packs a 270-bhp punch from just a 1.6-litre engine
Porsche’s 911 is the theme of the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed, as the iconic rear-engined sports car celebrates its 50th birthday. As well as being the centrepiece of the sculpture outside Goodwood house, the 911 will also be on track, with the new 991 GT3 making its UK debut, while rare examples of all seven generations of 911 will be on display throughout the weekend.
Renault is going big on its F1 heritage, bringing along 1978 RS01 that was the first turbo F1 car, and four examples of Renault RS27-powered F1 cars from the 2013 championship, including the race-winning Lotus E21, the Red Bull RB9, the Caterham CT03 and the Williams FW35. There’s crazy concept cars too, in the shape of the Twin’Run and the Twizy Renaultsport F1. The latest RS Clio 200 Turbo will also be in action.
Rolls-Royce has confirmed attendance of the 624bhp Wraith coupe, which will be taking to the hillclimb.

Skoda has a Goodwood attendee for the family man – the new Octavia vRS. Available in petrol or diesel four and as a hatchback or estate, the Octavia vRS offers VW Passat levels of space and Golf GTI performance for Seat Leon money.
VW will no doubt have the most fuel-efficient hill climber of the weekend in the XL1 streamliner – check out CAR’s review here, and our scoop on the Golf GTI-engined XR1 version. Plus, the Polo WRC rally car will be in action, and the Mk VII Golf GTI.
