Honda Accord Coupe concept
Thu, 26 Jan 2012Despite the Honda Coupe's 'concept' designation, this car essentially previews the ninth-generation model set to go on sale later this year.
Proportionally the new car is an evolution of the outgoing model, with a slim side profile and elongated tail. Its lamp, grille and window graphics also build on the existing themes but have been refined to add more balance and definition to the car's detailing. Its surfacing is more sophisticated than before too, with the belt line, rear fender and rocker treatment in particular adding tension and a fluidity along its length. This appears to be yet more evidence that Japanese manufacturers are turning a corner in terms of design execution and consistency.
The car was displayed without an interior at NAIAS.
