Honda recalls Accords, Pilots for suspension fix
Thu, 23 Dec 2010Honda is recalling about 10,800 Accords and Pilots in the United States for a potential front-suspension failure. The recall covers the 2010 and 2011 model years.
A problem with the machinery used to tighten the spindle nuts on the front axles of both vehicles, as well as the damper attachment bolts for the Pilot, could cause the suspension to fail.
A flaw in the software for the assembly equipment was found at Honda Manufacturing of Alabama. The issue only applies to vehicles produced at HMA.
Honda will start notifying Accord and Pilot owners on Dec. 23 to take their vehicles in for inspection and repair.
