Hopped-up Infiniti Q50 Eau Rogue set for Detroit auto show
Thu, 05 Dec 2013
Infiniti undoubtedly has a prestigious reputation when it comes to the world of Formula One racing, thanks to its partnership with Red Bull Racing and Formula One's baby-faced prodigy, Sebastian Vettel. So it's not surprising that its next concept will take inspiration from the F1 speed machines. Infiniti plans to debut the Q50 Eau Rogue concept at the Detroit auto show in January.
Infiniti says the Eau Rogue concept is a high-performance version of the Q50 model and takes its name from the notoriously challenging corner at the Formula One track in Spa-Francorchamps. Infiniti wants to evoke the spirit of F1 racing with this concept while providing road-car technology and aerodynamic design elements.
The Eau Rogue concept takes some design cues from the aerodynamic styling of F1 racers. Infiniti plans to unveil the concept at its press conference during the Detroit auto show, but we can see a few details from the teaser image. The Q50 Eau Rogue sports a new front air dam and sleek carbon fiber side mirrors, but no word yet on what modifications will be under the hood. The current Q50 delivers 328 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque, so we'd assume it will be higher than that.
