Hyundai Blue2
Fri, 01 Apr 2011Also making its debut at the 2011 Seoul Motor Show is the Hyundai Blue2 concept. The mid-sized EV is said to show the blueprint for future sedans from the company. The moniker ‘Blue2' comes from a combination of the sub division of Hyundai ‘Blue Drive' whilst the 2, is a nod toward the chemical symbol for Hydrogen.
Powered by a fuel cell electric system, the Blue2 has a clear dynamic circling the idea of efficiency and being ‘eco-friendly.' The Blue2 is said to be ‘aiming at gaining early leadership of the FCEV market', with this in mind the concept is equipped with low-resistance tires and alloy wheels, designed to improve aerodynamic performance, while the car's interior design encompasses a futuristic look by using eco-friendly new materials.
Hyundai claim that a key phrase for the exterior design was 'Intersected Flow,' meaning that the Blue2 features an intertwined interior and exterior. With the concept sporting elements such as cameras replacing the traditional mirror arrangement and a wrap around glasshouse. The DRG is dominated by a large LED screen panel that relays the car's condition and ‘futuristic' images to other road users, with the same screen layout is repeated on the rear.
