Hyundai Genesis sedan loses an engine option, gains more tech for 2013

Hyundai is dropping the 4.6-liter V8 in the Genesis sedan lineup for 2013. The 5.0-liter V8 will continue in the R-Spec model, while the rest will get Hyundai's 3.8-liter V6.
Hyundai has also enhanced the optional eight-inch Driver Information System, which is now more intuitive, with a rotating joystick, better voice recognition and improved navigation-screen layouts. Hyundai says new “hot keys” will give drivers more control over the system to reduce distractions. The system also uses a 64-gigabyte, solid-state hard drive, which is more stable for holding music, images and videos.
The two remaining engines continue with the same output, 429 hp for the V8 and 333 hp for the V6. Rear-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters are still your only option.
Upgraded models will get Hyundai's Blue Link telematics system, which combines safety, service and infotainment features like Eco-Coach, remote door unlock and automatic collision notification.
Hyundai hasn't released pricing yet, but last year's Hyundai Genesis with the 3.8-liter V6 cost $35,075 while the R-Spec stickered at $47,375 including destination. We expect the price of the 2013 models will be similar.
