Hyundai UK deliver a bumper load of photos and video of the new Veloster

Hyundai UK has been busy taking photos and video of the new Veloster Coupe – due in showrooms in 2012 – and we have plenty of both.

A couple of months on from the release of model and price details for the Hyundai Veloster in the UK, Hyundai UK has been making the most of their new coupe by taking a shed load of photos and videos of their new sporty coupe. So we though the least we could do is let you take a look.

A huge album of 69 photos awaits of the Veloster Coupe, and we’ve stitched Hyundai’s four videos of the Veloster together in to one video so you can just press play and watch – we don’t want you over-taxing yourself at Christmas. And we have to say, the more we see of the Veloster Coupe, the more we like it.

To start with the Veloster is coming with Hobson’s choice on the engine front, with all on offer a 1.6 litre petrol. It’s a decent enough lump with 138bhp, up to 47.9mpg and as little as 137g/km in ‘Blue’ guise, and a 0-62mph in 9.7 seconds. Not enough to get the pulse racing, but a promising enough sporty coupe.

The price is more than decent too for the Veloster, with the entry-level 1’6 GDi coming in at 17,995 and the top of the heap Veloster Sport 1.6 GDi DCT costing £21,745

But what is on the way is the Hyundai Veloster Turbo. That sounds an appealing prospect with Hyundai’s new 1.6 litre 204bhp  twin-scroll turbo lump at some time in 2012. That should make for a very lively little coupe with better than decent performance and a real threat to the German performance brands.

But for now you’ll have to make do with the Veloster video, with the Veloster Turbo to follow in the New Year.
